How does your company stack up???
From the list below the company that I personally admire the most would be Berkshire Hathaway. Over the weekend I read the most recent letter to the shareholders and was amazed at the clarity and the disclosure. Reading BRK.A annual report is a pleasure; it reads just like a book and keeps your interest. Yes I know that for most of us reading an annual report does not equate fun but for me it was fun. If you have never read any of the letters to the shareholders from BRK.A I highly recommend it. From the letter you not only learn how BRK.A makes money but the mistakes the firm has made.

I actually just did a little project on Buffets letters and read a bunch of them. They really are very interesting and although they are long, they read very well. Im starting to read all of them now. Also intersting fact about Costco, the ceo only has a total annual salary of about 350,000, what other ceo gets paid that little?

No but some chose to take huge bonuses vs. a salary. Look at Steve Jobs his salary is $1 dollar.

Also the top 3 executives at Google make $1. They just get really large stock options. I read what they get are large numbers of stocks at a higher price in the future, which is still a bargain for them. Like Steve Jobs gets 10,000 shares of Apple for 10-15% higher than it is now in a year. So he could sell his shares if he needs cash and will acquire more shares at a bargain price later.
That’s my understanding, I could be mistaken.

The top 4 companies in this list are all in most of my mutual funds. I feel good about that.
